Annual PARC SpayDay 2013
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) celebrated International Spay Day by once again opening its gates to indigent pet owners who wished to have their companion animals sterilized.
A total of 73 cats and 12 dogs were brought to the PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center to undergo surgery. PAWS Shelter veterinarian Dr. Wilford Almoro, and volunteer veterinarians, Dr. Dan Hiceta, Dr. Maripi Diaz, and Dr. Aries Hapatinga, conducted the surgeries.
There are millions of homeless animals around the world and less than half of them get adopted. The rest either wander along the streets or get euthanized in animal control facilities. Sterilization prevents unwanted kittens and puppies from being born each year and it gives a your pet a happier and better temperament because there is no need to go through heat cycles that drastically changes their behavior.
