Darling and her pup Louie were victims of disturbingly random acts of cruelty. Abandoned by her owner, Darling sought shelter in an abandoned house where she gave birth. But eventually, renovations on the property started, and she was forced to leave, wandering the streets with her baby. She was shot in the belly with a BB gun, and was enduring infection when PAWS volunteers took her in foster care.
A few months later, Darling has become one of the best-trained dogs at PARC, healthy, happy, and ready to go to her forever home.
