Miles was diagnosed with heartworm when he was rescued. Heartworm is expensive to treat and one of the diseases that make a dog a candidate for euthanasia at the shelter. But the Fates were smiling on Miles when a kind lady visited the shelter. She offered to sponsor Miles’ treatment when she learned of his predicament.
